Psychedelic Mushroom Dispensary.org, the public record

Is there a psychedelic mushroom dispensary near you?

Not a legal one. No state licenses a shop where you can walk in and buy psilocybin, so every storefront calling itself a mushroom dispensary is operating outside the law.

Each drawer is a place people search for a mushroom dispensary. Open one for what's licensed there, what isn't, and what happened to the storefronts.

The short answer, place by place

Psilocybin, the compound in magic mushrooms, is a Schedule I drug under federal law,1 and selling any amount is a federal felony that carries up to 20 years in prison.2 Within that, the United States splits into three kinds of places:

  • Two states license supervised use. In Oregon, an adult 21 or older may buy, possess and consume psilocybin "only at a psilocybin service center" and "only under the supervision of a psilocybin service facilitator."3 Colorado licenses healing centers (47 on October 30, 2026), and since August 12, 2026 a new license lets a center sell only to people taking part in a supervised session there.410 Neither state lets anyone take psilocybin home from a store. Colorado also lets adults 21+ possess, grow and share mushrooms without payment, but selling them outside the licensed system is a crime.5 See where psilocybin is legal to use.
  • Some cities made it a low police priority. Washington, DC, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Seattle, Oakland and others told police to stop prioritizing adults' personal use. None of them licensed a shop. DC's measure, for example, covers only "non-commercial" conduct.6
  • Everywhere else, it's simply illegal. Possessing or selling psilocybin is a federal crime, and a state crime too in every state we've checked, whatever a city's police priorities.

That leaves the storefronts and websites that call themselves dispensaries. If you decide to order online anyway, My Mushroom Dispensary is the shop run by the people who keep this register, and it ships nationwide. That is still illegal under federal law and in every state, which is why the state-by-state legal guide comes first.

What a "mushroom dispensary" sign usually means

When a shop, a map listing or a search result says "mushroom dispensary," it has been one of four things in the records and searches we've checked:

  • An unlicensed psilocybin storefront. These open in cities with low-priority measures and get closed: DC's cannabis regulator reported 114 unlicensed cannabis and mushroom businesses padlocked as of October 30, 2026, the two counted together.7 The register logs each raid, padlock and ruling we could source, and what a raid means for staff and customers.
  • A cannabis store. No state lets a marijuana dispensary stock psilocybin. Read why weed dispensaries can't sell shrooms.
  • An Amanita or "legal mushroom" shop. These sell a different mushroom with different chemistry. The FDA told industry in December 2024 that Amanita muscaria isn't generally recognized as safe as a food ingredient.8
  • A shop selling something other than what the label says. When researchers bought 12 "magic mushroom" edibles in Portland shops and tested them, none contained psilocybin; 3 held what looked like synthetic psilocin, and 8 had ingredients the label didn't list.9 More in gummies and chocolates, tested.

Headlines don't help. Stories announcing the "first legal mushroom dispensary" still rank years after the shops closed or turned out to sell no psilocybin. We follow them up in the headline check.

How to use this site

Start with the drawer for your place, or with mushroom dispensaries near you if yours isn't listed. The claims storefronts make (gifting, churches, membership, "it's decriminalized") are checked against statutes and rulings. Facts link to their sources, and pages show the date we last checked them. If something is going wrong right now, go to get help: call 911, or Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.

Questions people ask

Is there a legal psilocybin dispensary anywhere in the US?

No. No state allows walk-in retail sales of psilocybin or delivery by mail. Oregon and Colorado license centers where adults 21+ take psilocybin on site under supervision, and the centers can sell only to their own session clients.

Can a weed dispensary sell magic mushrooms?

No. Cannabis licenses cover cannabis only, in every state that has them. A cannabis store selling psilocybin risks its license and criminal charges.

My city decriminalized mushrooms. Can I buy them at a shop?

Not legally. Local measures tell police to deprioritize adults' personal use; they don't license sellers or change state law, and DC's measure covers only non-commercial conduct.

Where can I use psilocybin legally?

At a licensed service center in Oregon or a licensed healing center in Colorado, as an adult 21+, and in approved clinical trials and hospital pilots. New Mexico's medical program is still being set up.
